About Canton Chef...

Here at the Canton Chef we put ourselves in the customer’s shoes. We know how we would like to be treated in a restaurant ourselves and we make sure your dining experience is a fulfilling one, from the moment you’re welcomed in the door to the minute you stagger out, full up and happy.

The Canton Chef, in the heart of Honley village, was bought by experienced restaurateur Roy Lau four years ago and since then has gained a reputation as serving the best Chinese food for miles around, in elegant and homely surroundings.

The predominantly Cantonese menu caters for all tastes. We’re famed for our Peking duck and Shanghai recipes but you might want to sample our sizzling steak or some of our speciality European dishes. If you’re vegetarian there is a wide variety of vegetable options, all freshly prepared by our four experienced chefs, known for their attention to detail.

Despite the fact that people travel far and wide to sample its wares, the Canton Chef remains a community hub, a place locals treat as a place to sit and catch up over a leisurely glass of wine; we’re fully licensed.

Set menus are available for between two and six people with catering available for large functions. The Canton Chef is always open Bank Holiday Mondays.
